What is the Oceana Soccer Club? The
Oceana Soccer Club was founded over 20 years ago to provide
Travel and Instructional Soccer to Outer Cape Cod. We promote
teamwork, sportsmanship, and a competitive spirit while
providing a safe atmosphere that encourages fun and a love for the game of soccer. |
|
How does Oceana fit in within the soccer world? Oceana belongs to the South Coast Soccer
League which is a member of Massachusetts Youth Soccer Association (the second largest state program in the US). Massachusetts
Youth Soccer (MYSA) is affiliated with US Soccer (USSF)
which is a member of FIFA, the world wide governing body of football (soccer). |
|
When does registration begin? Oceana
registration begins in September. While it is
possible to register as late as February, placement on a team cannot be guaranteed at that time. It's always best to
sign up early. Please consider joining our mailing list
for important reminders. |
|
What is a typical travel season like? Our
travel season runs from April to June. Most
teams practice twice a week with one game on either Saturday or Sunday. |
|
Do we need to purchase any special equipment or uniforms? The beauty of soccer is that it is
played by children all over the world with just a ball.
Oceana will provide a team jersey for each player.
These are returned at the end of the season. The club provides soccer shorts and
socks which you may keep. Players will need to purchase shin guards. While non-metal
soccer cleats are encouraged they are not required. |
